Join historian Ken Turino as he discusses how museums have become more inclusive (but still there are challenges) to tell LGBTQ stories. New England and greater Boston in particular have been among the centers in the country to do this. Discover what you can see right here in our area to learn more about our history.
Kenneth Turino is Manager of Community Partnerships and Resource Development at Historic New England and an adjunct professor in the Tufts University Museum Studies Program. Mr. Turino is also Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the House of Seven Gables in Salem, MA. With Max van Balgooy he co-edited Reimagining the Historic House Museum, New Approaches and Proven Solutions (AASLH 2019). He has published numerous article on interpreting LGBTQ history and presents regularly on the subject.
