LGBTQ+ History Picnic

LGBTQ+ History Picnic

Saturday, May 13, 2023
11AM - 2PM
Parkman Bandstand, Boston Common
Free RSVP, Donations accepted

In the style of gay liberation "be-ins" where the LGBTQ+ community would meet up to hang out and be gay in public, join The History Project for an LGBTQ+ picnic at the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common.

We'll set up at 11AM and will be sharing self-guided LGBTQ+ history tour materials. At noon, we'll be reenacting historic LGBTQ+ speeches, poems, songs, and manifestos. Drop-in anytime between 11AM and 2PM!

Feel free to BYOP (bring your own picnic)!

Reenactment speakers to be announced.

RSVPs are encouraged but not required. This event is free and open to the public, a donation at any level helps us to document, preserve, and share LGBTQ+ history. Thank you for your support!

This event is supported by funding from a Massachusetts Service Alliance (MSA) COVID-19 Recovery Grant to expand volunteerism and service in Massachusetts. Learn more at www.mass-service.org
