The History Project is pleased to announce that Marco Lanier, a graduate student at Simmons University, is the recipient of the Visual Resources Association's VRA Internship Award. Marco will receive $3000 to digitize visual resources from THP's Gay Community News (GCN) collection.
Materials digitized will become accessible through the archives' digital collections platform: Documented. Marco's work will build on past efforts to digitize materials related to GCN. A portion of GCN's photograph collection is available online. This digitization project coincides with The History Project's efforts to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Gay Community News.
We are grateful for Marco's work which will enhance THP's public programming, education, and outreach efforts and we thank the Visual Resources Association for their support. We look forward to working with Marco this fall!
